We are proud to announce that Hunter has successfully completed his PhD final oral exam!
In his seminar, Hunter discussed his new strategies for targeting UDP-GlcNAc biosynthesis pathway for antimicrobial resistance. His work explored GlmU inhibition using GlcNAc-phosphate analogues, the substrate specificity of GlmU toward azide-functionalized GlcNAc derivatives, and innovative acyl phosphate-based strategies for intracellular phosphate delivery. Together, these studies reveal important enzymatic and chemical barriers to targeting amino-sugar metabolism and provide valuable directions for developing new antibacterial inhibitors and metabolic probe.
We are proud to celebrate this achievement and wish him every success in his future endeavors. Congratulations, Dr. Hunter Clark!
